Position Description
The Associate Director has a senior level administrative role within the counseling center, supporting the Director in the overall management of the counseling center services. The position’s responsibilities are broad and multifaceted. Together with the Director, the Associate Director provides leadership and management of clinical services/case management. The Associate Director oversees the center’s undergraduate and graduate training opportunities and the center’s website/on-line presence, in addition to providing center services to the campus community (e.g., individual and group counseling, consultation, crisis intervention, outreach programming, etc.)

This is an 11 month, regular, full time benefits-eligible position.

Minimum Qualifications
This position requires a doctorate in counseling psychology, clinical psychology, counselor education or a terminal degree in a related field. Must possess a PA license or be license eligible. Must have at least three years relevant experience in a clinical setting, preferably in a college counseling center. Must possess management and supervisory skills. Must have basic computer/website skills. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills are required. The ability to both lead and be part of a team is required. A demonstrated understanding of college student development, as well as competence in individual and group counseling, expertise in clinical training and supervision, and advanced skill in outreach and programming are required.

This year Psychological Services celebrates its 54th anniversary as part of the Bucknell community. The center is staffed by 7 clinicians, psychologists, counselors and social workers. A psychiatrist is on contract with the center to provide in-house medication services. The center works closely with the other offices within the Division of Student Affairs and with colleagues in Academic Affairs.

Bucknell University is located in Lewisburg, PA, situated along the banks of the beautiful Susquehanna River, in the rolling hills of central PA. Outdoor activities of hiking, biking, kayaking, camping, etc., are readily available.
