COUNSELING SERVICES -- PSYCHOLOGIST


The position of Psychologist provides mental health services for Colorado State University students. Responsibilities include clinical series, graduate training, and outreach programming. Depending on work assignment, this position reports to the Director of Counseling Services and Graduate Training or the Director of Assessment and Specialty programs.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provides on-call screening/triage services within a counseling center setting
• Provides behavioral health consultations within a primary care clinic setting
• Conducts intake and assessment services
• Provides individual and couple counseling/psychotherapy
• Facilitates interpersonal process, theme, mental health management, support and/or psycho-educational groups
• Responds to campus crises
• Shares after-hours emergency services coverage with other members of the staff
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation for all clinical interactions and consultations
• Provides outreach, liaison, and consultation services consistent with the mission of Counseling Services
• Provides supervision of assigned trainees in accordance with training policies and procedures
• Attends staff meetings
• Serves on internal and external committees
• May develop formal teaching relationships with academic departments when consistent with the mission of Counseling Services
• Demonstrates a commitment to diverse populations and/or serving underrepresented populations
• Follows agency policies and procedures consistent with state mental health statutes, ethical guidelines, best practices, and HIPAA
• Represents CSU at regional and national conferences as funding allows
• Other responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
• Completed doctorate (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in counseling or clinical psychology from an APA-accredited program, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience from which comparable skills can be acquired
[NOTE: We will consider applicants who will complete their doctorate at the end their APA internship this summer.]
• Completion of a pre-doctoral internship at an APA-accredited training program
[NOTE: We will consider applicants who will complete their APA internship this summer.]
• Licensed or license eligible in Colorado (license required within five years upon hire)
• Demonstrated skills and experience in outreaching to, and effectively working with, diverse people, cultures, and communities

Desired Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications also include:
• Demonstrated interest in and experience working with at least one of the following:
o men’s issues
o gender identity, sexual identity, and/or sexual orientation issues
• Experience providing clinical services to a college student population
• Ability and willingness to contribute to CSU Health Network’s commitment to serving traditionally under-represented populations
• Experience providing clinical supervision to graduate student trainees
• Training and experience providing group psychotherapy
• Licensed as a psychologist for minimum of three years
