Position Description
The Center for Health and Counseling Services at Ramapo College has a full-time, 10-month position (September 1 – June 30) for a Psychological Counselor position. Under the direction of the Director, provides individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, psycho-educational programming, consultation to the College community which includes faculty, staff, and students and supervision to graduate students. This position will be responsible for developing a group therapy program for the department and the counselor will lead group workshops pertaining to student needs such as depression, anxiety, social skills for students with Autism-Asperger’s disorders

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum requirements - licensed Master level professional with degree in mental health, psychology, or social work. Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology strongly preferred. New Jersey licensed or license-eligible as a psychologist will be highly considered. If applicant is a psychologist, NJ licensure will be required prior to eligibility of the first multi-year contract.

Minimum four years of counseling experience, one year of which must be in a college counseling center.

A Doctoral degree may be substituted for two years of required work experience.

Experience working with clients with Autism-Asperger’s disorders highly desirable
Experience in mental health prevention and outreach
Experience with culturally diverse population
Good interpersonal skills
Ability to provide consultation and referral services
Ability to write accurate case notes and reports
