Position Description
A part-time, 30 hours per week, 52 week, professional Psychiatric Social Worker position is open. Working under the general direction of the Associate Director of Hampshire College Health Services, this position is responsible for evaluation and treatment of a wide range of patients presenting to clinic; participates in preventative mental health programs as a consultant and leader of workshops; provides specialized services such as alcohol/drug interventions and outreach. Crisis/liaison services, including regular intervention with emergency situations and highly acute patient situations.

Minimum Qualifications
Masters degree in social work (MSW), licensure in Massachusetts for independent practice of social work (LICSW), 3-5 years of relevant professional experience, at least two of which must be post graduate degree. On-call responsibility requires after hours time.

A. GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Under the general direction of the Associate Director of Hampshire College Health Services, is responsible for evaluation and treatment of a wide range of patients presenting to clinic: participates in preventative mental health programs as consultant and leader of workshops; provides specialized services in at least one major program. Crisis/liaison services, including regular intervention with emergency situations and highly acute patient situations.
B. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:(Identify those duties that demand the greatest amount of time, attention, and are of key priority to the department. Include any duties which present unusual physical requirements such as standing, walking, exposure to chemical, etc.)
1. Range of clinical responsibilities
a. evaluation, crisis interventions, brief psychotherapies of wide variety of clients (individuals, couples, families, groups) presenting to clinic
b. on-call responsibilities in regular rotation for a variety of urgent and emergency situations in 24-48 hr. stints including nights, weekends and holidays
c. specialized tasks as defined with Director
2. Conducts BASICS interviews and alcohol and drug outreach to Hampshire College
3. Provides community consultations and workshops
4. Prepares timely written documentation of above activities as required
5. Understands and contributes to implementation of departmental and institutional goals for achieving non-discrimination and creating multicultural environment
6. Performs other duties as required
C. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (Minimum required level of education: required licenses: years and nature of related experience: unique related physical ability, travel, working evenings and weekends, etc.)
