Position Description
The Director of the Health & Counseling Center works collaboratively within the University community to provide leadership in the organization, operations, and strategic planning for an integrated Center that includes Health, Counseling, and Wellness Services. The Director reports to the Vice President for Student Affairs and provides administrative support for the advancement of the Center, Division of Student Affairs, and the broader University community.
•Directs the development and implementation of a variety of services, programs and activities designed to facilitate student health and well-being.
•Provides administrative supervision of Health Services, develops and manages the budget, and negotiates annual contracts for health service providers and the student health insurance plan.
•Provides administrative, budgetary, and overall clinical management of Counseling Services, including supervision of unlicensed and post-doctoral staff, graduate practicum students, and support staff.
•Develops and periodically updates departmental strategic plans (including mission, goals, objectives and outcomes) to facilitate the creation, delivery, and assessment of health, counseling and wellness programs; creates and maintains an ongoing assessment plan to measure effectiveness and student learning outcomes of departmental services.
•Oversees and participates in providing training, outreach, and consultation.
•Coordinates 24-hr. crisis intervention and responds to emergencies.
•Represents the department on the Student Affairs Leadership Team, works closely with the Dean of Students and Residence Life in providing services that support a safe and healthy campus environment, and works closely with the Vice President for Student Affairs in advancing the work of the Division.
•Adheres to professional and ethical guidelines, and ensures that the department complies with university policies, as well as state and federal laws related to health and mental health services.

Minimum Qualifications
Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology or other closely related discipline from an accredited program. Three years post-doctoral clinical experience. At least three years administrative supervision. Appropriate state licensure as required by profession within 18 months. Successful completion of an employment and/or criminal history background check required.

Desired Qualifications
Appropriate state licensure as required. Related experience in higher education and student development. Five years post-doctoral clinical experience. At least three years experience as a clinical services coordinator or assistant director. Familiarity with delivery of medical services.
