Position Description
The University of South Florida Counseling Center invites applications for a 12 month half-time Addiction Professional position with demonstrated proficiencies in providing assessment, counseling and intervention services specific to alcohol, drugs and other addictive-related behaviors for a diverse university student population. Demonstrated experience conducting community educational outreach and developing relapse prevention programming and supportive networks. Demonstrated experience with co-occurring diagnoses and a wide range of psychiatric populations, including involuntary hospitalizations. Knowledge of patterns of addiction and dependence, as well as use of evidence-based models for behavior change and recovery.

Minimum Qualifications
Masters degree in a mental health related field (psychology, social work, rehabilitation counseling) with certification as an addiction professional, and at least one year experience working with young adults or college students. Eligible for licensure as a mental health professional in the state of Florida.

Desired Qualifications
Doctoral degree in a mental health related field with two or more years clinical experience working in a substance abuse treatment facility or agency with young adults or college students Licensed as a mental health professional in the state of Florida and a Certified Addiction Professional (CAP).
