Position Description
PRIMARY PURPOSE/ POSITION SUMMARY:
Provide one-on-one counseling to students with educational, behavioral, emotional, or social problems employing psychotherapy, crisis intervention, as well as, consultation and referral within the guidelines for best practices, including HIPAA and FERPA.

JOB COMPONENTS/PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide students with direct clinical services of counseling and psychotherapy. Conduct sound clinical assessments, develop and implement treatment plans informed by professional practice for university students.
2. Collaborate with Wellness Center colleagues in providing quality care to student-clients.
3. Provide workshops, trainings, presentations as requested by staff, faculty and/or students
4. Provide referrals for students if additional therapeutic services are needed and/or requested.
5. Maintain and secure confidentiality of appropriate documentation.
6. Maintains relationships with Dominican University faculty and staff in an effort to increase use and familiarity with counseling services. Contribute to the growth of our program though relationship building with cross campus partners.
7. Consult, as needed, with university faculty and staff regarding identified students. Participate in the development and monitoring of supportive systems across campus.
8. Perform other duties as requested, delegated or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Masters Level in Counseling, Psychology or Social Work, or other related Social Service fields.
Illinois licensure required.
Desired Qualifications
CADC and/or alchohol/drug treatment experience a plus.
