Position Description
The Counseling and Psychological Services Department (CAPS) at The University of Hartford has a vacancy for a full-time 10-month staff psychotherapist position beginning immediately. Primary responsibilities include: providing time-limited psychotherapy to individuals, groups, and couples; conducting intake evaluations; conducting crisis evaluations and providing crisis interventions; supervising and training graduate student trainees; and providing outreach and consultation to the university community.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include: a Masters Degree in social work or counseling psychology; licensure or eligible for licensure as a clinical social worker or mental health counselor in Connecticut; previous clinical experience with a college-age population (preferably within a college counseling center). If not yet licensed in Connecticut, candidate must obtain licensure by the end of the academic year.
Desired Qualifications
Desired qualifications include: proficiency in providing brief, focused, and evidence-based treatment interventions; a thorough understanding of the developmental challenges facing a college-age population; strong oral presentation skills; and a desire to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
