Position Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
General duties include providing intake assessment and individual/couples/group psychotherapy within a brief therapy framework and occasionally, longer-term therapy; developing and implementing workshops and outreach presentations to a wide variety of student groups and university departments, crisis intervention and psycho-educational programming.
The qualified candidate will engage in on-going case management; make appropriate referrals to other professionals as necessary; participate in staff and training meetings; serve on University committees; engage in professional development activities, perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualified candidates should demonstrate strong generalist skills, as well as have demonstrable multicultural competence and a commitment to multicultural organizational development. Additional desirable qualities may include expertise in eating disorder treatment, treatment of anxiety and depression, gender issues, GLBT or multicultural counseling.
The Counseling Center is a unit within the Division of Student Affairs. Successful applicants will demonstrate an understanding of the role of a counseling center on a university campus and function well within the larger division of Student Affairs.
Additional duties may include, but are not limited to: consultation and outreach to the campus community including students, faculty, and staff.
FLSA/Benefits:
FLSA: Exempt (Not Eligible For Overtime)

Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Psychology from an APA accredited program
Qualified to become a licensed psychologist in the State of Indiana
Entry level applicants welcome to apply
Strong generalist psychologist skills: developmental counseling, career counseling and clinical counseling
Must attain State of Indiana licensure within 18 months from date of hire
Desired Qualifications
Demonstrated skills to conduct intake clinical interviews, psycho-diagnostic assessment, treatment plan formulation and treatment recommendations
Knowledge and application of current best practices, laws, procedures, and the American Psychological Association ethical principles that govern the practice of psychology in the State of Indiana
Demonstrated multicultural competence and a commitment to multicultural organizational development
Strong diagnostic and clinical skills
Preferred:
Licensed or license eligible in the State of Indiana
Experience in working with a traditional college-aged population a plus; and have demonstrated experience working successfully with diverse populations including; students of color, international students, and GLBTQ students
Experience in working with a broad array of psychological, emotional, and developmental concerns
