STIPENDS: The NIH-NRSA stipend schedule (see below) is supplemented by KUMC by an additional $350 per month ($4,200/year) for provision of Health Insurance for the Trainee. In addition, participating faculty are required by the program to supplement the NIH stipends by $3,500 per year.

Trainees are eligible to buy medical and dental insurance through the KUMC group plan.
Medical Insurance: The training Program provides an additional annual allowance of $774 for the purchase
of medical insurance.
Travel Allowance: The Training Program provides $500 per year for travel by the trainee to attend a scientific meeting.
Tuition: If the trainee, in consultation with the advisor, decides to take a course, the tuition (up to $2,200) will
be paid directly by the Training Program.
Duration of Support: The Training Program normally provides up to 2 years of stipend support.
