Research Interests:
My research interests have focused in the area of Diseases of the Female Breast, specifically high-risk benign disorders, breast neoplasia and biomarkers that might predict risk for progression and ethnic variations in variations in progression and outcome
My work to date can be characterized as descriptive (or observational) and translational research in the following categories:
Racial/ethnic differences in breast cancer diagnosis and outcome.
Observational research - i.e., morphologic characterization of high-risk lesions using fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) techniques.
Investigation of prognostic factors using slide based biological assays to test or translate basic science observations regarding breast cancer invasion, metastasis and progression.
Clinical Interests:
Cytopathology and general surgical pathology, fine needle aspiration biopsy, cancer, women’s health, breast diseases, health disparities
