VI Laryngology

Laryngology training is most extensive during rotations at KUMC and VAMC. Each institution has a laryngeal laboratory with videostroboscopy instrumentation. More extensive introduction to more advanced laryngologic techniques such as laryngeal EMG, botulinum toxin injections and transnasal esophagoscopy is available during the KUMC Red Team rotation. Operative microlaryngoscopy with extensive use of laser therapy is learned by the rotating resident at KUMC, KUMedWest and VAMC.
