Neck Dissection
I was undergoing radiation treatments and then chemotherapy but
this process was not having an effective impact on my cancer. My
body was also not tolerating this process well. So since the radiation
and the chemotherapy treatments were not helping, in January of
2003 I was referred to Dr. Tsue.
Dr. Tsue decided that surgery “a neck dissection” was
the best option to remove my cancer and save my life. My wife had
a thousand questions and Dr. Tsue’s nurse Judy Brown was
amazing in addressing our concerns. Both Dr. Tsue and Judy were
very straight forward. We left that meeting feeling very assured
that things were going to turn out okay. There were no negative
thoughts in our conversation. Everything was so positive that I
knew that I was going to come through this. Not once did we question
the process and we were comfortable with our decision to undergo
surgery.
I had a very long surgery and a painful recovery
in the ICU (I was in for about a week). However, once I left the
ICU and ever since then everything has been smooth. They told me
that my lymph nodes were benign and I was in good shape. Five years
later everything is still working and I just come in for checkups.
It was God’s plan for me to be in this situation
and it was God’s hands operating on me with Dr. Tsue.
