Summer Rural Research

The Rural Primary Care Practice and Research Program (RPCPRP) is an elective rotation for medical students. The program involves active clinical training as well as health promotion and disease prevention research in rural primary care settings in cities and towns across the state of Kansas.

Students routinely report excellent clinical learning experiences and engagement in a number of important community activities under the guidance of their physician preceptors during the summer rural research program. These experiences include, but are not limited to: inpatient, hospital care, office-based care, clinical and surgical procedures as well as obstetrical deliveries, and nursing home care.

The RPCPRP program allows students a unique learning environment for advancing their clinical skills. Participating students are sure to be ahead of their peer medical students in terms of knowledge and practice after completing the program.

For more info. regarding the program, view the most current issue of RPCPRP newsletter.
