Wichita State University offers a web-based breastfeeding and lactation course for those students who wish to gain certification as a lactation consultant. This course is not required. Interested students will be provided information about enrollment in the course.

Option #2: POST-MASTERS CURRICULUM (Full Time Study) Revised 11/05

The Post-Masters Nurse-Midwifery Option is for students who have already earned a masters degree in nursing. Completion of an Advanced Practice Core is a prerequisite. This must include courses in Advanced Health Assessment, Advanced Pathophysiology, Health Promotion and Complementary Therapeutics, and Applied Drug Therapy, or their equivalents.
