June/July 2002
- Atlanta, Georgia
An exciting time was shared by many representatives of the University of Kansas Nurse Midwifery Education Program and friends of KU. Photographs of the annual meeting, gala events, and honor ceremonies can be found on the website “Happening” section. Congratulations again go to: Sr. Jeane Meurer, CNM, FACNM as the 27th Hattie Award Winner, the highest honor bestowed a CNM from the American College of Nurse Midwives, Judie Wika as the University of Kansas Nurse Midwifery Program Instructor of the Year, Ann Wright as the Wyeth Student Reporter, Cathy Gordon as recipient of the Varney Participant award and the ACNM Foundation Memorial Award, Ginger Breedlove as an inductee to the Fellows, and all the wonderful “Kudo’s” heard from leadership in the ACNM about the enthusiasm and energy of the KU Student contingency! Consider joining us next year for even greater fun and the continuing saga of raising $$ in quest for the KU “red hat” to be re-donated to the ACNM Foundation at the Marriott Desert Springs Resort and Spa in Palm Desert, CA, May 30-June 5, 2003.
- Integration for Class 02
The completing Nurse-Midwifery students are very busy with full time activities related to integration of their nurse-midwifery skills into beginning practice. Check the web board for case studies and on-going discussion among the seven students related to their experiences, joys, and sometimes exhaustive accomplishments. We miss them, and know they are all learning so much as they prepare to enter the Nurse-Midwifery profession as independent practitioners.
- Class 03
An energetic group of five women are active in Antepartum clinics and experiences. Each brings unique talents and commitment to Nurse-Midwifery. A photograph of their retreat and orientation to midwifery can be viewed in the happenings section of the website.
- Completion Ceremony Plans
