An annual nurse-midwifery professional seminar is held each spring. It is presented by the Greater Kansas City Chapter V-18, American College of Nurse-Midwives with co-sponsorship from organizations affiliated with continuing medical education. The 8th annual seminar was held on April 5, 2003 in the Helen F. Spencer Center for Education Building, St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri. At the completion of the seminar, participants were able to: identify elements of stress related to global women's health issues that are applicable to evidence-based practice today; apply the principles of evidence-based decision making in maternity and gynecological clinical settings; and identify the legislative issues and policies including federal, state and fiscal implications.
