Fulfilling the Promise of Research

Some of the patients seen by KU Pediatrics.

As the region's only advanced-care academic medical complex, the University of Kansas Medical Center has the facilities to investigate the biological processes that underlie diseases, discover new drugs and procedures to offer hope to those that suffer, and turn that hope into reality for our patients and their families.

The Department of Pediatrics is proud to play an vibrant role in these research activities. We maintain an active Research and Scholarship Committee and Clinical Trials Subcommittee to guide our faculty in these investigations.

We work closely with the other research departments in the School of Medicine and play an active role in the General Clinical Research Center (GCRC) and the Human Subjects Committee. These bodies provide vital oversight of all research activities, and we maintain representation on each.
