Welcome to PRIDE!

Thank you for visiting the official web site for PRIDE (Pediatricians Recognizing Individuals Demonstrating Excellence). Founded in 1999 by Randy Goldstein, DO, a member of the faculty here at the University of Kansas Children’s Center in Kansas City, KS (during his residency here), PRIDE is a program that links pediatricians, schools, businesses and civic leaders in an effort to recognize the best in our children, our communities, and our nation.

PRIDE was presented at the 1999 National Convention of the American Academy of Pediatrics. It is designed to be implemented by pediatric residents. Our goal is to see this program spring up across the nation. We invite any interested residency program to implement this program in their community. Because this is a national program, we wish to maintain a common purpose, theme, and standard for it.

This web site has been designed primarily for other pediatric residency programs who might want to start their own PRIDE program. However, even if you are just curious what this program is all about, please read on. We have a PowerPoint presentation used to introduce PRIDE to local businesses and sponsors.

The contents of this web site are identical to the materials that have been mailed out. We placed these on the Internet to make them more easily accessible. Please take a look at our program materials. If you would like to implement PRIDE in your residency program, please read the materials in this site and contact us with any questions.

The Table of Contents is accessed by the bar on the left. Clicking on the logo at the top of the bar will bring you back to this page. You may also access the home pages of the KU Pediatrics Department, and the University of Kansas Medical Center.
