What are the benefits of Healthy Hawks?

Our goal is to provide information to your family about making healthy changes to provide lifelong healthier habits. Benefits of participating in Healthy Hawks may include weight loss, healthier eating habits, increased exercise, more family time, and improved self-esteem.

Who can participate?

Children who are 3-17 years of age are eligible. Your doctor can tell you whether or not your child meets the criteria to participate.

How much does this program cost?

The cost of Healthy Hawks varies dependent on your insurance company. Please check with your provider or call us to help you determine what is covered.

Where do these clinic visits and group meetings take place?

All of your visits will take place in the Department of Pediatrics Outpatient Clinic at KU Medical Center at 3901 Rainbow Blvd. This clinic is located at the corner of Olathe and Cambridge.

Can my other children particiapte?

We encourage everyone to come and participate. This includes other children and other adults (grandmas, care providers, uncles, etc.). It is mandatroy that at least one parent come, but we hope everyone in the family will want to come and take part. Everyone is welcome at the groups and at the gym.
