Child Abuse
Sunflower House is now
seeing any pediatric patients who are referred to KU for possible abuse.
Healthcare
providers who want to refer children for a child abuse medical evaluation
at Sunflower House should contact the law enforcement agency where the
child resides or the KC Metro Social and Rehabilitation Services reporting
office (1-866-215-9077). The assigned police officer or SRS caseworker
should be informed of the healthcare provider's request to make a referral
to Sunflower House for a medical evaluation. If there are any questions
regarding this process, please contact Dr. Kay Farley or Stephanie Strout,
Physician Assistant, at Sunflower House: 913/631-5800.
