Child Abuse

Sunflower House is now providing care for any children referred to KU for possible abuse. Healthcare providers who want to refer children for a child abuse medical evaluation at Sunflower House should contact the law enforcement agency where the child resides or the KC Metro Social and Rehabilitation Services reporting office (1-866-215-9077). The assigned police officer or SRS caseworker will coordinate referral to Sunflower House for a medical evaluation. If there are any questions regarding this process, please contact Dr. Kay Farley or Stephanie Strout, Physician Assistant, at Sunflower House: 913-631-5800.

PRIDE

KU Pediatrics Department is also proud to be the birthplace of PRIDE, Pediatricians Recognizing Individuals Demonstrating Excellence. This program was designed by one of our former residents to reward children in the community who embody the best and brightest in our society.
