What software do I need to access the course?
This course requires Netscape 3.0 or later.  If you do not have a recent version of Netscape and you are connected through KUMC's Remote Access service, you can download the browser through the KUMC Software Download Page.

Otherwise, the browser is available through Netscape's home site.

Do I need any plug-ins?
The Renal Function online materials do not require any plug-ins. However, they do require that your browser supports JavaScript and that JavaScript is enabled.  To make sure JavaScript is enabled in Netscape: 

1. Open the "Edit" menu at the top of the browser.
2. Select "Preferences" from the menu.
3. Choose "Advanced" from the "Preferences" dialog box.
4. Make sure the box marked "Enable JavaScript" is checked.
5. Close the dialog box.

How do I navigate the course?
Any section or objective in the course is directly accessible through the Outline page.  To get to the Outline page, click on the word "Outline" in the image map on the left side of each page or click on the "Outline" link at the bottom of each page.  Through these methods, you can also directly access the course introduction, a list of all figures in the course and this help page.

Left and right arrow buttons appear at the top right and bottom right of each content page.  These allow you to page through the content chronologically.

When an answer window pops up, the text is too big to fit within the window.  What do I do?
Reduce the default font size setting on your browser.  In Netscape, choose "Decrease Font" from the "View" menu at the top of the screen.  Repeat this process until the text is small enough to fit in the window.  Text 12 pts. or smaller should fit comfortably within the window.
