Elluminate Setup Requirements

This setup can be done at anytime prior to your participation in an Elluminate session. But it is recommended that you go through ALL the steps below, several days before your actual session. This will allow ample time for troubleshooting any technical problems.

1. System Requirements and Equipment

a) Go to the System Requirements page to make sure your computer is capable of participating in Elluminate Live.

b) To use the audio features of Elluminate you will need one of the following combinations:

Note: If you use speakers with a separate microphone, you may experience feedback. That can possibly be adjusted by lowering the volume of the speakers or turning them slightly away from the microphone.

Note: A head set can be purchased at your local home electronics store for around $20.

2. Browser Test

a) Go to http://www.elluminate.com/support/ to determine if your computer has the Java software. If you see the green checkmark on this page, your computer has the Java software.

b) If you see a larger red 'X', you need to download the Java software. You MUST download the this software to participate in Elluminate Live sessions.

The Java software is a one-time only download. It will take approximately 5 minutes to download and get into the session using a cable modem or DSL connection. A dial-up connection takes considerably longer (30 minutes or more).

During the setup you will be asked to allow installation of various pieces of software. Click 'OK' to these requests. The details are described here:
