Information Resources (IR) Core Purpose:

Provide leadership in managing the information resources and services of the KUMC community.

• Apply knowledge and analytical skills to solving information management problems and devising information management strategies.
• Actively engage the educational, research, clinical, and administrative units of KUMC to assure the design and implementation of information systems and services that support their programs and activities.
• Continually learn new tools and methods; evaluate them; and incorporate them, as appropriate, into the KUMC community’s business processes.
• Anticipate emerging information needs of the KUMC community and develop tools and strategies to meet them.
• Promote information management tools and strategies where they can improve the effectiveness or efficiency of KUMC’s employees, students, and departments.
• Communicate, collaborate, and consult with KUMC’s employees, students, and departments.
• Design, develop, manage, and assure the security of KUMC's technology infrastructure.
• Ensure that IR employees have skills, tools & opportunities to succeed and are respected & valued.
