Stephen K. Williamson, M.D., F.A.C.P.
Dr. Williamson, Professor of Medicine, has been a member of the faculty since 1986. He currently serves as Division Director for the Department of Internal Medicine's Division of Hematology/Oncology and Medical Director for the KU Cancer Center. The division also includes active bone marrow and stem cell transplant programs along with a breast cancer prevention center. Dr. Williamson is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology and has extensive clinical trials expertise in gastrointestinal malignancies, lung cancer and head and neck cancer. He has also received accolades for his teaching efforts: Excellence in Research Award, Veterans Affairs, KC 1996; Mother Theresa Award for Outstanding Patient Care 1997; and Top Doctor at the University of Kansas Hospital in 2005.
