Dear Fellowship Applicant:

Thank you for your interest in the Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Program at the University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC).

KUMC offers a three year combined Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Program accredited by the ACGM.  We have one (1) available Hematology/Oncology fellowship position for the 2008-2009 academic year.

As you are aware, the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS) will officially open the fellowship application on Thursday, November 15, 2007.  Applications to the Hematology/Oncology Fellowship will be open from December 1st, 2007 and will close on March 1, 2008.

December 1, 2007  ERAS system opens to programs
March 1, 2008 Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Program application submission closes
April 9, 2008 NRMP Rank Order List opens
Late April 2008 Candidate Interviews Begin
June 4, 2008  NRMP Rank Order List closes
June 18, 2008   NRMP Match Day
June 19, 2008 Letters of Appointment to matched applicant(s)

ERAS Submission requirements:

  1. Common Application Form (CAF)
  2. Personal Statement
  3. Photograph
  4. Three (3) Letters of Recommendation (from supervising physicians most familiar with your professional development)
  5. Medical School Transcripts
  6. USMLE Step I and Step II scores

Additional submission requirements:

  1. Curriculum Vitae
  2. For FMG applicants – copies of ECFMG certificate, VISA, EAD/EAC, etc.

NOTE:  The University of Kansas School of Medicine only accepts candidates with a J-1 visa sponsored through the ECFMG or applicants with a permanent resident status.
