
Preparing for Boards -- Information for Residents
Materials available:
- MKSAP Series
- Each 2nd year resident is given one complete set of MKSAP books for board study
- Several additional sets (including different editions) are available for checkout by any resident
- MKSAP audio available for checkout
- MedStudy Board Review DVDs and question CDROMs are available for checkout

- Board Review Questions at Morning Report/Core Conferences
During each morning report 1-2 board review questions are selected and analyzed by all residents. Questions are also integrated into the core curriculum conferences.
- Board Review Internet Modules
All residents will have access to board review internet modules based on the MKSAP board preparation material.
- Interactive Board Review Wednesdays
Chief residents and subspecialty faculty will host an interactive board review question session based on MKSAP questions Wednesdays in the spring semester. Attendance is required for 3rd year residents but all are welcome to attend.
- Board Review Course
In the spring, all 3rd year residents participate in a 1 week long dedicated board review course which is comprised of the Harvard Medical School Intensive Review of Internal Medicine Board Review Course.
- Voluntary board review groups are also assigned to aid residents in study options
- InTraining Exam
All residents take the InTraining Exam annually. This exam helps the residents and program directors determine educational gaps/at-risk residents which can help direct independent study as well as rotation scheduling.
