The Division concentrates its efforts on a wide range of diseases of the immune system.  The faculty includes nationally recognized physicians and scientists dedicated to improving the quality of patient care, identifying new mechanisms in the pathogenesis of diseases, supporting and initiating clinic trials for new drug development and the education of future physicians and scientists.

The Divisional efforts encompass broad areas of Clinical Immunology as it relates to adult allergic, immunodeficient and autoimmune diseases of the skin, respiratory, vascular and musculoskeletal systems.  The NIH, KUEA and Pharmaceutical grants support our research activities.

The Allergy and Clinical Immunology section is dedicated to providing quality care for adults and a high level of investigative research for diverse immunological disorders. These include common allergic diseases such as rhinitis and asthma, skin conditions such as urticaria and drug/food allergies.

The Rheumatology and Immunology section is nationally recognized for excellence in the diagnosis and management of rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases, basic and clinical research, and training of rheumatology clinicians and students. Disease areas of emphasis in the clinical research programs include systemic lupus, erythematosus (SLE),   rheumatoid arthritis (RA), scleroderma and osteoarthritis.
