In 1981-82 Carol was named a Fulbright Scholar to conduct research with nursing faculty in Iceland, above the Arctic Circle with the beautiful northern lights when she returned in 1999. Then in 1991, 1993, and 1998 she went to the southern hemisphere as Visiting Professor to the University of Canberra in Australia with the beautiful Southern Cross constellation.
