PNEUMONIA: DIAGNOSIS

• CXR

• WBC

• Blood culture if WBC > 10-15,000 or total band count > 1500

• Consider evaluation for Chlamydia in those < 4 to 6 months old.

• Avoid culture of nasopharynx
