- Rare - but increasing
- serum levels elevated but inactive 20 genetic defects in nuclear receptors
Transient hypothroidism
- reversable
- Postpartum thyroiditis (1 to 6 mos pp) 20%
- May last up to 1 yr--permanent in 20-30%
