The School of Nursing offers several computer resources for nursing students depending upon their degree program. All nursing students may use the School of Nursing Computer Learning lab located in Room G007 Taylor Building. The Learning lab features 10 new Pentium 266 computers with 64MB RAM, DVD ROM, sound, and 17" monitors. These machines are connected to the School of Nursings Novell local area network and to the Internet and all campus computing resources including PULSE.
Software on these machines includes CAI programs used in association with the Nursing Skills Lab curriculum, Microsoft Office Pro 97 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access), Ethnograph, the Netscape Communicator with all supported plug-ins, WINSPIRS, and several self-testing programs for practicing the NCLEX exam.
The School of Nursing Computer Learning Lab is open the same hours as the Nursing Skills Lab which is generally 8AM-9PM, Mondays thru Thursdays, and 8AM to 5PM Fridays and Saturdays.
Nursing Doctoral students have access to the PhD Computer Room located in 4021 Taylor Bldg, adjacent to the PhD Student Area. This room offers 4 machines identical to those in the main computing lab and the same software offerings along with SPSS and NUDIST analysis programs.
Students must be enrolled in the appropriate undergraduate or graduate nursing programs to gain access to these areas.
