I want to start by sending out my thanks and appreciation to everyone for your tireless efforts and dedication to our faculty, staff, and students. All of you have managed to take care of business despite our staffing challenges and events outside of work. We have a great team and one worthy of recognition and appreciation. You personify "Something More @ KUMC" and I enjoy the opportunity of working with each of you every day.

HR celebrated Employee Appreciation Week by decorating each of the three office suites. Prizes were awarded for the most creative decor.
1st place - half a day off work was awarded to HR Administration for their KU Jayhawk Theme.
2nd place - extended hour for lunch was awarded to the Employment Office for their Tropical Luau Theme.
3rd place - the option to start work 30 minutes late or leave early was awarded to the 1044 Delp suite for their Cinco de Mayo Theme.
On Wednesday, May 7th, John, Janet and Rick provided a salad lunch from Panera.
On Friday, May 9th, the HR department hosted a "Sweet Spring
Showdown" which included several neighborhood departments (External Affairs,
History of Medicine, KUMC Credit Union, Office of Compliance, Environment, Health and Safety Office,
Animal & Human Research Protection Program, Equal Opportunity Office) competing for the best
homemade desserts.
