Vacations are granted to classified employees with the approval of the supervisor, providing adequate vacation hours have accrued. Vacation hours for part-time employees are prorated according to the percentage of time worked. At the end of the last payroll period paid in each fiscal year, up to 40 hours of any accrued vacation leave that exceeds an employee's maximum accumulation of hours shall be converted to sick leave. After this conversion, all remaining vacation leave over the maximum accumulation of hours shall be forfeited at the end of the last payroll period paid in that fiscal year.

Full-time exempt unclassified employees accumulate two days of paid annual leave (vacation) for each full month of employment, not to exceed 22 working days per fiscal year. Unclassified employees may accumulate a maximum of 38 working days of annual leave, however, accumulated vacation paid at termination will not exceed more than 22 days. Vacation paid at retirement will not exceed 30 days. Vacation hours for part-time exempt employees are prorated according to the percentage of time worked.
