Death (Funeral) Leave
K.A.R.
1-9-12
Up to six days of leave is paid upon the death of a close relative pending approval
of the supervisor. The employee's relationship to the deceased and necessary
travel time shall be among the factors considered in determining whether to grant
funeral or death leave, and if so, the amount of leave to be granted.
A relative is defined as a person related to the employee by blood, marriage or
adoption and minors residing in the employee's residence as a result of court
proceedings pursuant to the Kansas code for care of children or the Kansas
juvenile offenders code.
