Longevity Bonus


Taken from K.A.R.1-5-29

Upon completion of 10 years of length of service, each classified employee, excluding any temporary employee, shall be eligible for longevity bonus pay.

Longevity bonus pay shall only be issued when a documented performance review rating of satisfactory or better has occurred in the 12 months immediately preceding the date the employee is eligible for a longevity bonus payment.

The longevity bonus payment for each eligible employee shall be computed by multiplying $40 by the number of full years of state service, not to exceed 25 years.

10 years - $400.00 (minimum)
11 years - $440.00
12 years - $480.00
13 years - $520.00
14 years - $560.00
15 years - $600.00
16 years - $640.00
17 years - $680.00
18 years - $720.00
19 years - $760.00
20 years - $800.00
21 years - $840.00
22 years - $880.00
23 years - $920.00
24 years - $960.00
25 years - $1000.00 (maximum)

Longevity bonus pay shall increase the regular rate applying to overtime pay for hours worked during the 12 months preceding the date the longevity bonus is paid to the employee, and shall be considered in calculating the payment of compensatory time to an employee upon termination as provided in K.A.R. 1-5-24.

Longevity bonus check's will be issued the first pay period after the employee's service date. They will be added to the employee's regular paycheck (not a separate check) and direct deposited if the employee is set up for direct deposit. If the employee is not using direct deposit, the employee's longevity bonus check will be mailed to their home address.
