Healthcare Information management systems are used as an innovative teaching platform throughout the curriculum of the health professional schools in order to teach process and content to future health professionals.
Graduate education in health informatics is available online through a Master’s program or a Graduate Certificate Program.
Continuing education, consultation and staff development workshops/seminars designed to advance healthcare informatics are sponsored or co-sponsored through the Center.
|The Center is also a member of AMIA's Academic Forum. The Academic Forum is a membership unit within AMIA dedicated to serving the needs of postbaccalaureate biomedical and health informatics graduate programs. The Academic Forum is comprised of informatics professionals responsible for the leadership and excellence of informatics graduate programs.|
In collaboration with clinicians and clinical care agencies the Center supports the development and integration of clinical care tools for all aspects of patient care, including inpatient, outpatient, public health, home health and extended care.
Consultations services related to planning, implementation and evaluation of health Informatics solutions in academic and practice settings are available through the Center
The Center serves as an alpha and beta testing site for IT companies and product development. The Center supports evidence based practice and outcomes management research. Research related to innovations in information systems development that improve the quality of healthcare via risk reduction, health enhancement or organizational efficiency are a primary focus.
The Center seeks out, supports and encourages sponsors and strategic collaborators that enhance the mission.
Efficient and effective mechanisms to capture, store, retrieve, and share data resources for efficient and effective health information management are analyzed. Useful solutions for leveraging data resources are evaluated and disseminated to better serve the public and the health provider.
