Viewing chromosomes on monitor
Station 8: Computers/Microscopes
After the analysis is complete, a representative number of metaphases
are captured using a digital imaging system. The digitized images
are then able to be cut into individual chromosomes which are
then arranged into a karyogram. The karyogram is a representation
of a karyotype. The digital imaging system enhances this process
and assists in producing quality images.
