Kerri Fellows, MD As I was raised on the outskirts of a small town in KS, my first thoughts
towards medicine involved animals. However, I soon realized I needed
patients that could use words and “human” medicine became my interest. As
I proceeded through the years, I saw that Family Medicine was the place for
me because these physicians helped their patients through life, “from
birth to death.” Beyond that, FM docs know their patients and
their families; we become part of their family. I have not, for a single
day, regretted this choice. |

Aref Zaman, MD From Karachi to Kansas, the transfer has been undoubtedly exciting. I am a proud resident of the Family Medicine Dept at UKMC. The variety of patient age and the degree of illnesses makes FM appealing to me. I am inspired by the challenges of caring for a broad spectrum of various diseases. It is the only specialty which provides continuing and comprehensive health care for the individual and the family. Our department has a very well designed curriculum and has great opportunities for research. Being a University based program, we are always up-to-date with the latest info. Kansas City has a blend of a big city culture mixed with a small town feel. I love playing the guitar, snooker, poker and cricket. I am in process of learning how to cook! |
