Malinda Ellis, MD Hometown: Blue Springs, Missouri (Kansas City Metropolitan Area) Medical School: Duke University Undergraduate School: University of Missouri – Columbia As a native of the area, it only seemed fitting that I come back to Kansas City for residency. Coming from a university where Family Medicine is a specialty rarely entered by graduates, I am happy to be at a place where Family Medicine is a respected branch of medicine and residents are appreciated. Though I am a Tiger at heart and bleed black and gold, I have picked up my Jayhawk mantle for the time being and carry it proudly (that is until the MU vs. KU games roll around!!). I am strangely domestic when it comes to my hobbies. I love arts and crafts, sewing, hanging out at the house with my family and throwing dinner parties (though I don’t have much time for these anymore). Don’t be fooled though, I will go out and party with the best of them! My goals as a physician…I really don’t know!! That’s what I love about Family Medicine, the world (at least of medicine) is your oyster. You get the best of it all: minor surgeries, procedures, kids, adults, OB, sick, well, etc. You’re really prepared for most things that come your way! So, we’ll see… |

Holley Kelley, DO Medical School: Oklahoma State University Undergraduate School: University of Oklahoma I love everything about Family Medicine! Hands on medicine, procedures, patients, just everything! This will be my second internship, I started in Psychiatry but soon found that I missed the variety family medicine offered. I went to the University of Oklahoma for undergrad and Oklahoma State University for medical school. I like running, cooking, foreign films and spending time with my husband and son. KU has wonderful attendings and residents and I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else. |

Kumuda Kumar, MBBS Medical School: Bangalore University, Bangalore, India Hometown: Bangalore, India I was born and raised in Bangalore, India and moved to the USA after my medical school to pursue a residency in Family Medicine. During medical school I became particularly interested in taking care of individuals as a part of a family unit and preventive medicine. My search for ideal training in Family Medicine brought me to KUMC. Although I have never lived in Kansas City, I was particularly attracted to the clean suburbs of the city and the great residency program. My medical interests are diverse and include Women's health, Preventive medicine and Emergency care. With the burgeoning cost of health care, good and efficient primary care will serve the people best. My focus will be to get all the training that I can in order to serve a rural population after my graduation. |

Tracy Tran, MD Medical School: Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara Undergraduate School: UCLA A sojourner the better part of my life. Major stops included Texas, California, Guadalajara, Mexico and most recently, New York. Completed my undergraduate at UCLA (Go Bruins!), Medical school at Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara (Tecos!) and 5th Pathway at New York Medical College. Always up for a good laugh and some fun. Witty. Funny. Sarcastic. I like a clean kitchen; it makes for better cooking. I enjoy music of all types. Love kickboxing and group sports (basketball, volleyball and golf (I've been known to have a GREAT swing). Traveling is a must. I've been to Europe and various places in the US and Mexico. Excited about starting my residency at KU (Go Jayhawks). I believe I have a lot to offer professionally and personally. My goal as a physician is to learn, understand and then give back to my community. |
