Dr. McDonald became a faculty member in July, 2004, after completing her residency program at KUMC, where she served as a Chief Resident during her last year, and a Geriatrics Fellowship. Dr. McDonald's focus is Geriatrics, and her responsibilities include seeing older adult patients in the Landon Center on Aging's Geriatrics Clinic, nursing homes, home care and hospice. She also has a prominent role in the Landon Center on Aging education program involving medical students, resident physicians, geriatric medicine fellows, community-based physicians and other health care professionals. Her interest is in the care of older adults in the outpatient and long-term care settings, including physician-patient communication, end-of-life care, and long-term care medicine.
