Irene Peabody received her degree in Music from the University of Kansas in 1923. Three years later, she joined the faculty of KU as a teacher of voice. She taught for 44 years at the University before retiring. In 1987, Ms. Peabody passed away. Her collection of clippings and music programs is housed in the Special Collections at the Kenneth R. Spencer Research Library on the KU Lawrence campus.
