Biography

Ms. Kenney, a graduate of the KU School of Law, served as Adjunct Clinical Instructor of the Criminal Justice Clinic for the KU School of Law and Assistant District Attorney prior to being selected to serve as the Douglas County District Attorney for the last eight years.

She has spoken out and advocated to maintain civil rights and is recognized for her work on behalf of survivors of sexual violence, children and the elderly, among others.  She is actively involved in the Kansas County and District Attorneys Association, in which she has served on the Board of Directors and has assumed numerous leadership positions.

She is an outstanding role model both in her career as well through her work in the community. Service is a component of all she does, and through her work, she has become a resource for many people. She also is involved with Altrusa International of Lawrence.  This organization provides scholarships to young women in need. 

Our community is far better for Christine’s efforts and involvement.
