Biography

Evelyn Hitchcock Aldin was a local pioneer in the areas of Business and Home Economics.  Ms. Aldin received a bachelor degree in Business in 1929 from the University of Kansas.  She served as Chairperson of the Kansas Council of Women and was the official Kansas City hostess for the first Russian Women Exchange Visitors program sponsored in 1963 by the National Council of Women.  She was a member of the Executive Committee of the Kansas Citizens’s Council for Education and organized a 4-H club for her community.  Ms. Alden served not only as the President of the Kansas Home Demonstration Advisory Council, but also as the Director and President of the National Home Demonstration Council.
