Research Description

 

Dr. Ajay Nangia graduated from Guy's and St. Thomas' Medical School (University of London) in the U.K. followed by research at Yale for 2 years, residency in Urology at the University of Pittsburgh and fellowship in Male Infertility and Microsurgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He spent a year in private practice and felt the need to pursue a more academic career and was at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire for the last 6 years. He has just joined the University of Kansas Medical Center as an Associate Professor in Urology and is the Clinical Director of Andrology.

He has been the Travel Fellowship Director for the Society for the Study of Male Reproduction (SSMR) for the last 4 years, and is now the Secretary of that society. He served on the American Society of Andrology (ASA) Awards Committee for 3 years and is the Chairman of the Ethics Committee for the ASA. He is a reviewer for the Journal of Urology, Urology, Journal of Andrology, Asian Journal of Urology, Fertility and Sterility and Practical Reviews in Urology. His research interests have been related to the study of vitamin D in testicular and sperm physiology. He is also pursuing work with the Center for Evaluative Clinical Sciences at Dartmouth Medical School on outcomes research related to assisted reproduction and male infertility. He is currently collaborating with PhDs in the Center for Life Sciences at the University of Kansas Medical School studying male contraception and hormonal pathways.
