Streeter Woodrow Ashton, or, better known as Pop-Pop, was born on the 27th of July, 1913. He was raised in and around Des Moines, Iowa, where he continued to live until the spring of 1995. With no diploma beyond that of North Des Moines High School, he honed his skills as a handy man, working his way around the city doing odd jobs. In this manner he made a decent living for some years to come. His primary occupation beyond that arose from his duties in World War II. Street was a medic in Europe during the conflict, and worked as a nurse's aid after it conclusion.

At age 87, Streeter lives with his daughter and is surrounded by a loving family.
