Welcome to our Career Ladder Homepage. This Career Ladder Grant, funded by Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), provides online resources to help nurses continue their education. Wanda Bonnel is project director for our Career Ladder grant and her ideas for this project came largely from her enthusiasm for her own nursing career opportunities.

"I started my nursing career with my associate degree in nursing and then kept going to school while working. I finished my BSN, my Masters Degree, and then my PhD. Thinking of myself as working on a career ladder has made a huge difference in how I have envisioned my career and the opportunities that have become available to me. I have thoroughly enjoyed advanced practice nursing work with older adults and having opportunity to teach nursing students. An educational career ladder helps you wake up with some interesting things to do everyday." There is a real need for clinical nurse leaders and nurse educators at all levels.
