Instructions

  1. Click on the ABSTRACT SUBMISSION SITE link. The submission works best with Internet Explorer (IE) 7.x. This URL is accessible to any computer connected to the internet either on or off-campus.

To log in, you use your GroupWise username and password and follow the prompts displayed. It will guide you through the process to successful complete the submission.
  3. If your mentor is not a co-author (contributor) on your abstract, please insert Kelly Magaha at kmagaha@kumc.edu.  This will be removed when the abstract booklet is printed.
  4. A student may only appear as the primary author on one abstract each for a presentation and poster. There is no limit on the number of co-authorships (i.e., or appearing as a contributor).
  5. The actual presentation is limited to eight minutes with two minutes for questions by the audience and panel of judges.
  6. Poster presentations - you will have a 4' x 6' board for displaying your poster. Once your abstract has been processed, you will be contacted regarding the time in which you can set up your poster.
  7. When submitting your abstract, the software does not accommodate all formatting and/or special characters. Please review your abstract CAREFULLY. One recommendation is to use Arial font in Microsoft Word. This is especially important to maintain the integrity of Greek Alphabet characters. If you have bold, underlining, italics, superscripts or subscripts, they will not appear in the abstract text box. Please cut and paste your abstract in the text box. If you do not, your submission will show incomplete. Then email your abstract to Kelly Magaha and include the information about what is not formatting properly.
  8. Outside computers will not be accommodated in the Varnes Center Conference Center where the oral presentations will be held. The university network is very secure. Only the university computer in each room will be used for your presentation. Once your abstract has been processed, you will be contacted about loading your presentation onto the computers prior to the event.
