About the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs


The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs is located on the University of Kansas Medical Center campus in Kansas City and is a unit of the Office of Academic Affairs.

The role of the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs is:

  • Maintain a database for all postdoctoral fellows that:
    • contains a listing current and former postdoctoral fellows and electronic versions of their Curriculum Vitae;
    • tracks the duration of postdoctoral fellow appointments;
    • tracks the placement of postdoctoral fellows for a period of 5 years following the termination of their appointment at KUMC.
  • Maintain a data form for all postdoctoral fellows.
  • Coordinate communication, events, and other interactions with and among postdoctoral fellows.
  • Coordinate the meetings of the Postdoctoral Fellow Advisory Committee.
  • Supports the recruitment of postdoctoral fellows.
  • Sponsors or facilitates activities which provide professional development for postdoctoral fellows.
